Biography

Formed in Raleigh NC, Weeder's Digest is an indie rock band composed of Nick B Weaver, Drew Hutchins, Logan Newsome, and Cameron McClellan. With the Raleigh music scene being primarily a mish-mash of cover bands, hip-hop, metal, and singer-songwriters, Weeder's Digest seeks to break the mold. With an authentic modern rock sound that takes a touch of pop lyricism, southern affectation, 90's alternative, and real human emotion, the band is redefining what it means to be a rock outfit on the southern side of the east coast.
The band has been praised for being easy to work with, quick to load in and out, energetic performers, and approachable but not watered-down songwriting. Performances to date include a 30 minute set at The Night Rider in Raleigh that was attended by 30+ people and Nick's parents, a pop-up show at PS37 in Durham, a triple-header at Bond Bros Eastside attended by 45+ people (thanks Daring For Glory!), and even opening for The Coyotes at Neptunes! Compliments for these performances have included at least one "BEST BAND NAME EVER" from the host of each venue, and a hearty handshake coupled with a "thanks so much for coming out! Please come back!"
Weeder's Digest has just released their first ever EP, The Big Finish, which includes 5 of their original songs. The Big Finish is available to stream on all major platforms, including Spotify, SoundCloud, iTunes, and Google Play.

Nick B Weaver
Founder/Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter
"The 'B' makes me searchable"
Hey there. I made this band with my own sweat, blood, tears, and community listings on reddit and Craigslist looking for other musicians to join me. I've been in a bunch of different bands over the years, and I'm damn confident none of them were as good as this one.
26 years of writing, performing, and improving have allowed me to develop Weeder's Digest into the passion project I've been waiting for. I grew up listening to 90's alternative rock and made my way into the 2000's in my teenage years. It's always been my goal to make music that takes the best parts and pieces from the music of my youth and combines it with modern, innovative ideas.
Whether we succeed or not is up to you, but I'm just proud to have gotten this far. :D
Drew Hutchins
Lead/Rhythm Guitar
"Did you want me to play the solo on that one?"
"Hi I'm Drew" - is something Drew WOULD say if he were writing his own bio. But he isn't-
Nick is.
Drew was the second recruit to join Weeder's Digest. Immediately he struck me as a talented and dedicated musician. More than that, when my brain starts to fail during practice, Drew is the first to take up the mantle of figuring out where we went wrong and what to do next.
He knows his fret-board up and down; his skill with music theory (probably) beats yours; he's the only reason any of us remember to record practice takes; and he's all ours.
Logan Newsome
Drummer
"Yeah man, it's whatever you want on this one"
Logan is my favorite kind of drummer: the good kind. He's on time, he's focused, and he picks up on new things quickly. No ego, no BS, just good clean drumming. Logan was the third to join our little party, but we probably couldn't have gotten going without him.
Cameron McClellan
Bassist
"I kinda just play whatever I want, I hope it sounds good"
Cam, Cam, the four-band man. Cam's a multi-instrumentalist, a mad-man, a headband having headbanger, and a real sick bassist. Where would we be without the man that sets our groove? The fellow the feels our flow?
Nowhere, that's where. We may own him through a time-share agreement, but it's better than not having him at all.

Merch!
Ok, so, here's the deal: We do have merch.
BUT.
We don't have an online store yet. We barely even have this website, it's powered by Adobe Portfolio and I'm pretty sure there's no way to install a shop here.
Have no fear though! If you see something you like and would really love to order it, please see our contact form at the top of the site (or right here) and let us know that you're interested in merch. Maybe we can work something out over email!
Either way, please feel inspired to browse our current offerings, and be prepared to come purchase some at our next show!
